The Grandeur of nature.... That is the driving force in all my paintings.
Open landscapes, wide spaces, high mountains and deep valleys; the edges of the ocean; the contrasts between sharp and blurred light; green hills and stony plains. All these - and more - are the source of my inspiration.
The landscapes - devoid of human presence - conjure up different moods, inspire the onlooker to follow his or her own thoughts and to seek places where the imagination can flourish.
The aim to excite the imagination, tempt the viewer to search out new horizons. The challenge for me in creating new works lies in expressing both calmness and intensity.
Even thouh it appears to be a rough landscape that originally inspired me, I strive to depict the mood of calm which the wilderness can create if you are dare to surrender to the experience of being there.
The paintings are all created from memories of moods and are never painted on location.
